"Our bodies contain our histories – every chapter, line, and verse of every event and relationship in our lives"

NeuroAffective Touch (NATouch) is an integrative approach that combines the relationship between mind and body, neuroscience, and emphasizes the importance of processing and resolving emotional and psychological issues through the therapeutic power of touch. NATouch is often used to address trauma, helping individuals process and release trauma-related emotions and physical tension. It places equal emphasis on the interplay of mind, emotion, and body to address the profound impacts of developmental, emotional, and relational trauma.

Practitioners complete a one year (4 module training course) and must complete 4 individual case consultations, 6 personal sessions, 8 study group consults, and write a case study using NATouch and Somatic Principles.

NeuroAffective Touch  is effective for those who suffer from:

  • PTSD, panic disorder, and phobias
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Physical, sexual, emotional, and spiritual trauma
  • Bullying, racism & discrimination
  • Medical trauma
  • Chronic illnesses/syndromes

How does NeuroAffective Touch help heal?

  1. Mind-Body Integration: promotes the relationship between the mind and body which can lead to increased overall well-being and a sense of wholeness.
  2. Emotional Regulation: assists people in regulating their emotions, reducing stress, and managing anxiety, as it focuses on the connection between touch and emotional responses.
  3. Reduced Physical Discomfort: can alleviate physical discomfort by addressing tension and stress patterns/bracing that’s held in the body.
  4. Improved Body Awareness: enhances body awareness, helping people become more attuned to their physical sensations and emotions, which can lead to better self-understanding and self-regulation.
  5. Touch and Contact: this fully clothed therapeutic touch is designed to help clients become more aware of bodily sensations and emotions and to facilitate the release of tension and emotional holding patterns.

Ultimately, NATouch helps people by addressing emotional and psychological issues through a somatic and touch-based approach which can be a valuable tool in healing.
